Switch: (DTP) Dynamic Trunking Protocol:
When you enable this protocol, a switch that connect to another Switch can automatically turn it interface to a Mode: Trunk port type automatically from another switch that was set to Trunk already.
Both VTP and DTP are only use in Cisco products only and in a very large number of Switches that need to be be setup. Both VTP and DTP will save time on configuration VLAN and Trunk port on those switches.
And no longer in use because of security holes and issue can arise from automatic steps.
